We’re Hiring – The Madam (Sales Executive)

Dragged Around London is looking to hire our first operational team member! We’re a drag entertainment business, excited to be helping bring all forms of drag into the light of day.

We find it particularly important to be furthering a culture of validating all forms of drag as equally fabulous. We have a strong purpose of increasing opportunity for those of us in the drag community who are being left behind – we believe in lifting each other up.

The private bookings arm of the business has been the most in-demand and has grown dramatically since the pandemic. It has now reached a point where we are getting enough enquiries that it is now possible to bring our first salaried team member on board.

Most Basic Details

Hours: 20 hours / month, ~5 hours a week (a little bit every day required) with room to grow as enquiries increase.
Location: Remote
Pay: £8.91 / hour + bonus based on profits made
Responsibilities: Handling incoming enquiries and coordinating with performers to match them to the gig.
Closing Date: 22nd October 2021, for a start the following week

No previous sales experience is necessary, you will receive training from us in the first few weeks. Of course, previous experience will be looked on favourably, but we would also particularly like to be open to people from minority backgrounds and those who have struggled to find work.

We look forward to hearing from you!

  1. Hello Dragged Around London!

I saw your post on Facebook and would be a great fit. I am a freelance evens producer and I manage a couple of cabarets myself. I also do photography and videography for queer cabaret events. I recently launched Bloodstock Festivals first ever LGBTIQ+ event @heavymetalcabaret I run my own small queer events company @blackshuckuk and my work is on my website http://www.hannahdingle.co.uk

Obviously this isn’t my desired rate for such a role but I know all to well what it is to work form the ground up. Would you be open to an agreement that should you see profits and bookings increase whilst working with me, that a pay increase / commission would be considered?

    1. Hi Hannah!

We do actually mention in the job description that there’s a bonus based on profits. The three co-founders have so far been working unpaid for the last 4 years – most of the money in the organisation goes to the performers. However, with this first hire, we are now implementing a pay structure for the first time, and we’re trying to work with a rather radical equal pay structure – everyone gets paid equally for the same work.

We can elaborate during the interview process if we end up interviewing you. Please make sure you’ve had a read of the document linked and that when you apply you answer the questions on the last page as well. 🙂

      Thanks!

  2. Hey DJ this would be a life saver for me … would love to be part of the team . Give me a call if you want to chat … 07729884966

    1. Hi Denise,

      Thanks!
